Sophie Martin

I am a research scientist at INRAE, Université Paris Saclay. I am a member of the EKINOCS team at UMR MIA-Paris-Saclay. I am interested in viability problems that study the compatibility between dynamics and constraints. These problems are very present in the issues of sustainability, sustainable development or transition towards a sustainable agriculture. The concepts of the mathematical theory of viability are relevant for the mathematical formalization of measures of resilience or robustness to disturbances. Closer to real applications, viability problems involve different stakeholders, so partial coordination modes must be considered. My scientific contributions concern the mathematical definition, the creation of algorithms and their implementation, in the field of control, in particular viability theory. The algorithms for solving viability problems, viability algorithms - dynamic programming, are exponential in time and space, hence the need to use machine learning models (ViabAI).
